Updated Grade Level Schedules Starting February 22nd for Virtual and In-person Learners

As we move into the next phase of learning, our team made some adjustments to our grade level schedules. Remember, ALL students will follow the proposed schedules virtually and in-person. The schedules were created to accommodate and provide consistency for both groups of students and our teachers.   Starting February 22nd, all students will follow the schedules below:

Wellness Wednesdays

Virtual learning day for all pre-K through grade 5 students (this will be the first “Wellness Wednesday” for pre-K through grade 5 students). As a reminder, beginning on February 24th for pre-K through 5 students, all Wednesdays for the remainder of the school year will be virtual and known as “Wellness Wednesdays” and be characterized by:

    • Additional deep cleaning of schools.
    • Two hours of teacher-led virtual learning (elementary schools) from 8:00 – 10:00 AM.
    • Additional independent student learning time.
    • Academic and social/emotional support.
    • Teacher planning and professional learning time.

In January, Henrico Schools will make adjustments to curbside meal service

Distribution at 12 schools will be consolidated with nearby sites

Henrico, Va. Dec. 16, 2020 — Henrico County Public Schools will consolidate curbside meals distribution at 12 schools with lower participation rates and merge service at those facilities with nearby schools, effective Monday, Jan. 4.

Each of the discontinued sites is three miles or less from an alternate site with curbside meal service. Families aren’t limited by these sites, however, and can choose to pick up school meals at any other HCPS school. The last day for curbside pickup service at the 12 sites will be Thursday, Dec. 17. Neighborhood meals distribution at bus-stop sites will continue unchanged. A list of alternative sites is below:

HCPS’ School Nutrition Services Department has answered the challenge of a highly unusual school year by distributing free breakfasts and lunches to students using a two-pronged system — free curbside pick-up service at HCPS schools, and teaming with HCPS Pupil Transportation Services to distribute free meals directly to 61 stops in Henrico County neighborhoods, using school buses. 2021 – 2022 School Year Variance Information

There are deadlines for requesting a variance, as allowed by HCPS policy, to another HCPS school. The deadline to request a variance for students currently in grades 8 – 11 is February 15, 2021. The deadline for students currently in grades 1 – 7 is April 15, 2021. Students entering kindergarten for the 2021- 2022 school year have 30 days from the date of enrollment to request a variance. Students who move after the deadline have 30 calendar days from the date of a move to request a variance.

Consider Joining the PTA

We are very excited that some of you have decided to join the Pemberton PTA, but we need more members!  Please watch the video below to hear some important reasons to join the PTA, from some of our very own PTA board members!
